Been putting off a project to install a new front door and I just got two new interior doors for my sons room and my room so now I guess I need to get on it. One of the things that was holding me back was that I needed to figure out an easy way to attach the hinges so I finally made this hinge jig. It use’s a router to route out the area for the hinge. works pretty good and I can also use it for other sized hinges that are smaller and larger.

I do not have a trim bit with the bearing on the shank so I used an insert and had to adjust the jig accordingly and as you can see on my test run, the hinges fit perfectly.

This was made from 1/2” plywood as the base and 3/4” MDF for everything else. It took two days to make and that is just because I wanted the glue to set. Could have been done in a day otherwise.
